Best Duct Cleaning Companies in Ottawa (2026): 10 Ranked by Review Volume

Ranked on Google review counts, each shown with the date it was measured. Last reviewed August 2026.

Most "best duct cleaners" lists do not say how they were ordered, which makes them impossible to check. This one is ranked by a single number you can verify yourself: how many Google reviews each company's profile carries. The rating sits next to it, the method is stated below, and nobody paid to be here.

Short answer

Ranked by Google review volume as measured on 19 August 2026, the 10 Ottawa duct cleaning companies carrying the most reviews are 1Clean Air - Ottawa (2,577 reviews), Pro Duct Solutions (297 reviews) and Ottawa Duct Cleaning Inc. (296 reviews), followed by Gravity Duct Cleaning, Air-santé, Air care, Prop-Air, une division de Roy., ClimPure Gatineau - Nettoyage de Conduit et Thermopompe, Power Vac of Ottawa, Dr. Duct, AC Purair.

Only claimed Google Business Profiles whose primary Google category is air duct cleaning, within 30 km of downtown Ottawa, carrying at least 20 reviews were considered, and no business paid to appear.

How this list was built

  • The candidate set: claimed Google Business Profiles whose primary category is air duct cleaning, within 30 km of downtown Ottawa, carrying at least 20 reviews. Only 43 profiles came back and 22 met that bar, so this is a top ten out of 22, a much shallower field than our other lists, and the eleventh company is not far behind the tenth. These are not our own listings: 7 of the 10 below are not listed in this directory, and they are named anyway.
  • The order: number of Google reviews, highest first, on the figure shown beside each name. Not the star rating. A 5.0 from one review is not evidence, and sorting on rating would put it above a company with 2,577 reviews.
  • The radius crosses the river, deliberately. 30 km from downtown Ottawa reaches well into Gatineau, which is about 2 km away, and three of the ten below are Gatineau companies. They are named with their municipality so you can decide for yourself. Two of them operate primarily in French.
  • Measured: the candidate pool was pulled 19 August 2026. Where a company is also listed in this directory, the figure here is the one on its listing, carrying the date that listing was last checked, so the number you read here and the number one click away cannot disagree. Review counts move, so the date is part of the figure.
  • What this is not: we have not hired, tested or inspected any company here, and nothing on this page is an endorsement. It ranks how much public feedback exists, which is a different thing from quality.
  • Nobody paid: no placement on this page is or has been sold. No business pays for a listing anywhere on this site. How listings are chosen is on the methodology page.

Read this before you book any of them

We rank these companies because people search for them, not because we think everyone needs one. The published evidence for routine duct cleaning is weaker than the advertising, and a page that ranked duct cleaners without saying so would be selling you something.

  • Two governments have looked, and neither found the health benefit. Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation's studies found duct cleaning will not usually change the quality of the air you breathe, and will not significantly affect airflow or reduce heating costs. The US Environmental Protection Agency puts it more bluntly: duct cleaning has never been shown to prevent health problems, and most of what sits in a duct sticks to the duct rather than reaching the room. That is not the same as proving it does nothing, but it does mean "cleaner air for your family" is a marketing claim rather than an established one.
  • The cleaning itself stirs things up. The same Canadian guidance notes that the process can temporarily raise the level of particles in the air while the system is disturbed. If someone in the house has asthma, that is worth timing around rather than ignoring.
  • The cheap whole-house special is usually not whole-house. NADCA warns that very low specials often cover only limited portions of the system and may exclude the air handler, blower fans, coils, registers, or the access openings needed to reach them. Ask what is included and what is not, in writing.
  • There are good reasons to do it, and the EPA names three. Substantial visible mould inside hard-surface ducts or on the equipment, ducts infested with vermin, or ducts clogged badly enough to actually release debris into the room. Construction dust after a renovation is the usual Ottawa route into the third one. So is a dryer vent, which is a fire risk and a genuinely different job from the ducts.
  • Two things the EPA adds should be in the quote. Insulated duct that has got wet or mouldy cannot be cleaned effectively and has to be removed and replaced, not cleaned. And if whatever caused the moisture is not fixed, the mould returns, so a cleaning on its own buys time rather than a solution. Ask to be shown any mould a company says it has found: much of a system cannot be seen without opening it.
  • NADCA membership is not what most people think. At least one employee of a member company must hold the Air System Cleaning Specialist certification, not every technician. Look the company up in NADCA's own directory and read the certified personnel line rather than trusting a logo.

If the real complaint is dust rather than mould or vermin, the cheaper fix comes first. The same Canadian guidance recommends checking the furnace filter monthly and changing it every three months, and fitting a better one, because an upgraded filter measurably lowers airborne dust.

HEPA vacuuming and taking shoes off at the door do more than the ducts will. Health Canada's indoor humidity range is 30 to 55 per cent, and moisture is what turns duct dust into a mould question in the first place.

What actually decides the bill in Ottawa

  • Vent count is the usual pricing unit, and the advertised special usually stops at ten. Count yours before you call, including the cold-air returns, because those are where the surprise charges come from.
  • The air handler and coils are the expensive part. They are also the part most likely to be excluded from a headline price. Ask explicitly.
  • Dryer vents are a separate job. Worth doing on its own merits, because lint is a fire risk, but do not assume it is bundled.
  • Be wary of anyone selling this at your door. Ontario restricts door-to-door selling of home services, and unsolicited duct cleaning offers are a long-running nuisance in Ottawa neighbourhoods.

How to use a list like this without getting burned

Review volume tells you a company has been around and that a lot of people have had an opinion. With only 22 companies clearing the floor in this trade, it tells you less here than it does on a larger list, because the difference between tenth and fifteenth is small.

Shortlist two or three, then get a written scope naming the vent count, the air handler, the coils and the returns, and compare on that basis rather than on the advertised number.

Common questions

Who is the best duct cleaning company in Ottawa?
There is no single answer. On the measure used here, the number of Google reviews behind a rating, 1Clean Air - Ottawa leads with 2,577 Google reviews at 4.8 as of 19 August 2026. Before you book anyone, it is worth knowing that the evidence for routine duct cleaning is weaker than the marketing suggests, which is covered on this page.
Does duct cleaning actually do anything?

Less than the advertising implies, on the published evidence. Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation's studies found duct cleaning will not usually change the quality of the air you breathe, and will not significantly affect airflow or reduce heating costs. The US Environmental Protection Agency says it has never been shown to prevent health problems.

NADCA, the industry's own American trade body, separately warns that very low whole-house specials often cover only limited portions of the system and may exclude the air handler, blower fans, coils, registers or the access openings needed to reach them. There are real reasons to clean ducts: substantial visible mould, vermin, or debris heavy enough to reach the room. A general expectation of cleaner air is not one of them.

How is this list ranked?

By the number of Google reviews each company's profile carries, highest first, among claimed profiles whose primary Google category is air duct cleaning, within 30 km of downtown Ottawa, with at least 20 reviews. Only 43 profiles came back and 22 met that bar, so this is a top ten out of 22 rather than out of a large field.

The candidate pool was measured on 19 August 2026. It ranks how much public evidence exists about a company, not the quality of its work.

Why are Gatineau companies on a list about Ottawa?
Because the search radius is 30 km from downtown Ottawa and the Quebec border is roughly 2 km from it. Three of the ten here are Gatineau companies, and they serve the region as the region actually works. They are named with their municipality so you can decide for yourself, and two of them operate primarily in French.
What certification should I look for?
NADCA membership is the usual signal, but read it carefully. NADCA states that at least one employee of a member company must hold the Air System Cleaning Specialist certification, which is not the same as every technician holding it. Look the company up in NADCA's own directory and read the certified personnel line yourself rather than taking a logo on a website as proof.
Have you used these companies?
No. We have not hired, tested or inspected any company on this page, and nothing here is an endorsement. This page ranks public review data with the method stated so you can check it yourself.
Can a company pay to appear on this list?
No. The order is the stated method applied to public data, and no placement on this page is or has been sold. Nothing anywhere on this site is sold either: no business pays for its listing or its position.

Before you book a duct cleaning, read what it does.

There are real reasons to clean ducts: visible mould, vermin, renovation debris. A general expectation of cleaner air is not one of them, and the cheap whole-house special usually is not whole-house.
