About WLS Landscaping

WLS Landscaping is an Ottawa design-build landscape company owned by Josh Wiles. It designs yards with 3D renders and a planting list, then builds them with its own crews: interlock, natural stone and flagstone patios, retaining walls, walkways, steps and driveways, outdoor kitchens, gas fire features, pergolas and lighting.

A design-build landscape company on Cowley Avenue in Ottawa, owned by Josh Wiles, working mostly on mid- to large-scale residential yards. A project starts with a call and a site visit, where the grades, drainage, machine access and trees are checked and a price range is discussed. Bigger projects then go to a design phase of six to eight weeks that produces 3D renders, construction plans, building details and a planting list; smaller ones go straight to a proposal priced line by line. Its own crews build the work, with a project manager handling the schedule and materials. The hardscaping covers interlock and natural stone patios, flagstone patios and walkways, front walks, side paths and stone steps, armour stone and block retaining walls with drainage behind them, interlock driveways and pool surrounds, each on a compacted granular base. For outdoor living it builds outdoor kitchens, gas fireplaces, fire pits and fire tables, pergolas on footings below the frost line and low-voltage landscape lighting, bringing in licensed gas fitters and electricians for the gas and electrical work, and it plans planting together with the stonework. Interlock and retaining walls carry a three-year limited warranty. It does not take snow removal or lawn maintenance contracts. The areas it names include Kanata, Stittsville, Nepean, Barrhaven, Manotick, Westboro, Rockcliffe Park and Orléans.
